The volunteers have spent a lot of this winter creating scallops along the embankments at Ashlawn Cutting, a section of the Great Central Way in Rugby. The reason for this work is to open up parts of the shady, wooded banks either side of the footpath, in order to provide space and light for wildflowers to grow, which will help invertebrates and in turn other wildlife. With the brash and logs we have been creating log piles and dead hedges to provide extra habitat.
