Like many Warwickshire medieval villages, Hunningham shrank in the late middle ages with properties abandoned and buildings demolished.
Hunningham Meadow lies on the edge of the modern village but contains traces of former medieval house plot boundaries visible as surface earthworks.
In late summer 2018 as part of an archaeology training event a geophysical survey by Magnitude Surveys using magnetometry and ground penetrating radar was carried out to detect the buried remains of medieval buildings and other structures.
