Join us for a workshop on how traditional aerial photography is used in archaeology to help identify historic features.
This is a practical classroom style workshop where participants will explore and learn more about the fascinating world of aerial photography and archaeology with examples from the local area. We will focus on some areas within the Dunsmore Living Landscape area but there will also be opportunities to see how aerial photography has been used in other areas of Warwickshire.
- Session 1: Background/history to aerial photography and archaeology
- Session 2: Identifying archaeology in aerial photographs
- Session 3: Practical session and quiz
- Session 4: Where to find aerial photography and further tips
It will be led by Ben Wallace of WCC’s Historic Environment Record team.
This workshop is free thanks to funding from National Lottery Heritage Fund.
